The Kohala Community will produce 50% of the food it consumes.
2008 Objectives, Strategies and Policies:
- Strategy 1.4: Promote and Support a Community of Diversified Agriculture
- Strategy 1.5: Establish Agricultural Education Programs
- Key Policy: Agricultural Subdivisions – Any proposed Agricultural Subdivision in North Kohala shall submit an agricultural use/production plan with their preliminary subdivision application that clearly demonstrates that the land will be primarily used for active agriculture, and that any proposed dwellings will be farm dwellings.
