PROGRESS SINCE 2008:
KOHALA HOSPITAL: Improvements included the ER renovation/relocation project, renovating the ER waiting room and buying new equipment for Kohala Hospital .
LOKAHI TREATMENT CENTER: a Lokahi Treatment Center opened in Kapa`au, the office closed recently but they have offices Island wide, with the nearest one situated in Waikoloa.
KOHALA RESILIENCE HUB: During COVID-19 the Kohala Village Hub became the Kohala Resilience Hub to provide those in need with food, information about COVID-19, masks and COVID-19 test-kits. They also provided an office for BISAC during the pandemic and will act as a community hub of information and other services for anyone in need.
CERT: The North Kohala CERT team has 11 active members at the moment
HAMAKUA KOHALA HEALTH CENTER: The Hamakua Kohala Health Center bought the former Kohala Club Hotel in Kapa`au. They plan to build a new Health Clinic which will also serve as a campus to train new health professionals and provide on campus housing for health professionals. Some permits have been approved, more funding is needed.
